New! Teacher Newsletter Fall 2011
Plan a field trip to Hartman! - NEW resource to assist teachers in planning field trips to Hartman Reserve.
A majority of the groups that visit Hartman Reserve Nature Center are from public, private, or home schools. Providing this service to our schools is our primary goal.
How does it work?
1. Determine your curriculum or activity goals (view grade specific details below).
2. Identify your eligible field trip dates.
3. Contact Chris Anderson, Program Coordinator, at chris.hrnc@gmail.com to reserve your trip date and set up a teacher's meeting. The teacher's meeting is a time to discuss your goals and plan a program at Hartman Reserve Nature Center that supports your classroom's academic objectives.
4. Complete the necessary paperwork required by your school (this may be required earlier in the process).
5. Line up volunteers/parents to help chaperone.
6. Confirm your details or please call with any questions.
7. Join us for a successful education field trip!
Your field trip includes a minimum of one Naturalist to guide you through your visit.
Financial Details
~
Current fees are as follows: $25 per class (up to 25 students) for less than 3 hours, $35 per class (up to 25 students) for trips over 3 hours. Multiple classes are welcome.
~ Call to determine if your school is eligible to receive a scholarship from the Field Trip Trust Fund, which pays for half of the program fees.
~ We have been able to keep our prices low through the generous support of the Amy Gephart Memorial Trust and the Cedar Valley United Way.
