Gene and Betty Buckles Program Center
The Gene and Betty Buckles Program Center is dedicated to protecting and promoting a better understanding of our environment. This environmentally conscious "Green Building" is intended to be a model because of its use of recycled materials and energy efficiency.
Built for Mother Nature
The term "Green Building" refers to designing, building, and maintaining a structure that minimizes the natural resources and energy needed for its creation and use. This type of building addresses the following issues:
- Natural resource conservation
- Energy efficiency
- Use of environmentally friendly construction materials and methods
- Healthy working and living environment
- Recycling and waste management education
Meeting Space
If you are looking for a small and affordable facility with a beautiful view, this is the place! Tucked away in the middle of Hartman Reserve's scenic upland forest, this building offers a cozy atmosphere for meetings, retreats, weddings, and receptions.
The 900 square foot multipurpose room seats approximately 40-50 people and includes a fully furnished kitchen with tableware provided. The center is heated, air conditioned, and contains folding tables and chairs along with an audio/video system. For those chilly winter time events, a rustic wood burning stove is located on the south wall. The center is fully accessible for persons with disabilities.
The program center also contains a carpeted loft and the Sugar Shack, either of which provides an excellent area for additional meeting space.
Rental Information

Sugar Shack
It's syruping time! During the months of February and March, the Sugar Shack area of the Gene and Betty Buckles Program Center is open. It houses a state-of-the-art maple syrup evaporator. The maple leaf cut floor along with the sweet maple aroma flowing from the room will invite you to stay and help with the process. Join us every year the first weekend in March for the Maple Syrup Festival to help kick off the season.
