Environmental Health is often defined as the process of controlling those factors in our environment that may have a deleterious impact on the public's health. When practiced at the local level it incorporates education and regulation to improve the quality of the food and water we consume, the construction of on-site waste treatment systems, the chemical balance of our public swimming pools, and a host of other programs that make our communities healthier.
