Zanetta Road Resurfacing

Contractor: Aspro Inc., Waterloo, IA
Project Description:
Project limits are from the Hudson City Limits west to the Grundy County line. The project includes placing a 1” asphalt interlayer followed by a 2” intermediate lift of asphalt and a 1.5” surface lift of asphalt.  Once paving is complete, the roadway will be shouldered with 3’ wide granular shoulders and fresh rock will be placed in driveways.  New centerline and edge line pavement markings will also be placed. Project will be open to traffic under pilot car and flaggers for duration of construction.

Waverly Road Resurfacing 

Contractor: Aspro Inc., Waterloo, IA
Project Description:
Project limits are from the City of Cedar Falls limits north to the City of Janesville Limits. The project includes 3' base widening and a 4” thick cold in place recycling of the existing pavement.  This will be followed by a 2” intermediate lift of asphalt and a 1.5” surface lift of asphalt placed on the mainline and widened paved shoulder area. Once paving is complete, the roadway will be shouldered with 1’ wide granular shoulders.  Fresh rock will be placed in driveways and new centerline and edge line pavement markings will also be placed. Project will be open to traffic under pilot car and flaggers for duration of construction.

Elk Run Road Resurfacing

Contractor: Aspro Inc., Waterloo, IA
Project Description: 
Project limits are from Donald Street north to Dunkerton Road. The project includes a 4” thick cold in place recycling of the existing asphalt surface.  This will be followed by a 2” intermediate lift of asphalt and a 1.5” surface lift of asphalt placed on the mainline. Once paving is complete, the roadway will be shouldered with 5’ wide granular shoulders.  Fresh rock will be placed in driveways and new centerline and edge line pavement markings will also be placed. This portion of the project will be open to traffic under pilot car and flaggers for the majority of construction.

The intersection of Donald Street and Elk Run Road will have 2.5" of existing asphalt milled of and replaced with 2.5" of new asphalt paving. This portion of the project will be closed to thru traffic on Donald Street. Elk Run Road will remain open to one lane only with flaggers or a pilot car.

Raymond Road (Dewar) Resurfacing

Project Description: 
Project limits are from just south of Third Street in Dewar north to Donald Street. The project includes a 4" milling of the existing pavement followed by a 1” asphalt interlayer, 1.5” intermediate lift of asphalt and a 1.5” surface lift of asphalt placed on the mainline. Once paving is complete, the roadway will be shouldered with 1’ wide granular shoulders.  Fresh rock will be placed in driveways and new centerline and edge line pavement markings will also be placed. The project also includes minor storm sewer and intake improvements. Project will be closed to traffic for duration of construction. The marked detour will be Independence Ave (HWY 281) to Elk Run Road to Donald Street.

Finchford Road Bridge Deck Replacement

Contractor: Cramer & Associates, Grimes, IA
Project Description:

The project is located just north of Winslow Road on Finchford Road. The project includes removing the existing concrete deck and guardrail. The existing steel beams will be strengthened to increase the load carrying capacity of the bridge and a new concrete deck and railing will be built.  Once the bridge is reconstructed paved concrete approaches and guardrail will be installed. Project will be closed to thru traffic for duration of construction. The marked detour will be Union Road to Beaver Valley Road to U Ave, T55 (Butler County) to C55 Marquis Road / 280th Street.
This project is expected to start around July 16th and last into November 2018.

Marquis Road & Jesup Road Bridge Repairs

Contractor: Boulder Contracting LLC, Grundy Center, IA
Project Description:
The project includes three bridges, Marquis Road between Raymond Road and Canfield Road, Jesup Road 1/4 mile north of Fox Road and Jesup 1/2 mile south of Fox Road. The project includes patching and over-laying the existing bridges and installing and repairing the paved approaches. There will be marked detours on Hwy 281 (Canfield Road) to Cedar Wapsi Road to Raymond Road and also on Poyner Road to Spring Creek Road to Young Road.
This project is anticipated to start in late July and be completed by early October.

Gresham Road Bridge Replacement

Project Description:
The project is located on Gresham Road between Raymond Road and Pilot Grove Road. The project includes removing the existing 34' steel beam bridge and replacing it with a 39' concrete and steel beam bridge. Project will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project.

Cedar Wapsi Road Culvert Replacements

Project Description:
The project is located on Cedar Wapsi Road between Burton Ave and Hwy 63. The project includes removing a 120" x 50" steel arch pipe and replacing them with twin 60" reinforced concrete pipes at two locations. As part of this project the County will remove approximately 160' of the existing concrete paving that adjoins Hwy 63. This will be replaced with new geo-fabric, base rock and 9" of asphalt pavement. Project will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project. The marked detour will be along Hwy 63 to Dunkerton Road to Wagner Road.
The project is expected to start the week of July 9th. The culvert replacement should take 4 to 6 weeks, weather dependant.

Marquis Road Culvert Replacements

Project Description:
The project is located on Marquis Road from Raymond Road to Hwy 281. The project includes removing and replacing 6 culverts at various locations. Project will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of the project. The marked detour will be along Hwy 281 (Canfield Road) to Cedar Wapsi Road to Raymond Road.
This project was completed in June, 2018
