Disease Surveillance & Investigation
The Disease Surveillance and Investigation unit is responsible for monitoring and investigating communicable disease in Black Hawk County. The Communicable Disease Program also offers sexually transmitted disease (STD) counseling, testing, treatment and referral through the main Health Department clinic, school based clinics, and designated outreach sites.
Black Hawk County has one of the highest sexually transmitted infection rates in Iowa. Refer also to
